We're thrilled to welcome our international guests to Lebanon!
Here is some information to help you prepare for your trip.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
The official currency is the Lebanese Pound (LBP), but US Dollars are widely accepted. Credit cards may not be accepted everywhere, so carrying cash is essential.
It's recommended to drink bottled water, as tap water is not safe for consumption. Also, be prepared for occasional power outages; carrying a portable charger and flashlight can be helpful.
Traffic in Lebanon can be intense, and driving styles may differ from what you're accustomed to. Consider hiring a local driver or using reputable taxi services or Uber for safe and convenient travel.
Lebanese cuisine is renowned for its delicious flavors. Don't miss trying traditional dishes like hummus, tabbouleh, falafel, and kibbeh. We generally recommend consuming food from reputable establishments to avoid any gastrointestinal issues.
June in Lebanon is typically warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 35°C (68°F to 86°F). Light clothing is recommended, but consider bringing a light jacket for cooler evenings. Don't forget your swimwear if you would like to enjoy nice coastal beaches.
Lebanon uses Type C and Type D plugs (220V, 50Hz). The country experiences scheduled power cuts. Hotels and restaurants often have generators, but it's advisable to carry a power bank to keep your devices charged.
Internet connectivity is decent in most parts of Lebanon, especially in urban areas. Most cafes, restaurants, and hotels offer free Wi-Fi. Roaming with an international SIM can be very expensive, so we recommend purchasing a local SIM card or e-SIM at the airport if you need constant access.
Alcohol is widely available in Lebanon, and the country has a vibrant nightlife. Tipping is customary; in restaurants, a tip of 10% is appreciated.
Byblos has numerous hotels ranging from budget to luxury. We recommend booking accommodation in advance, especially during peak season. Airbnb options are also available. Please reach out to us directly and let us know your dates so that we can assist you further.
